The person who complains that he or she hasn’t had a chance probably hasn’t had the courage to take the chance.

Thomas Edison once observed that:

The reason why most of us don’t recognise opportunity when it comes along is that it is often dressed in uniform looks like work.

Very often opportunity involves a great deal of work and willingness to take a chance on something, the outcome of which may be uncertain.

Eventually you reach a point when you must either accept an opportunity with all of its unknown or else turn your back on it.

No one can tell you when you reach that point; only you alone know when it’s time to make your move, to have the courage to take a chance.

We do tent to overlook opportunities because they seem a lot of work but we often forget how much joy we can find along the way.
